How in the world would I know? Do you want to drive a truck full of thousands of gallons of flammable liquid down the highway at 70 miles an hour with cars cutting you off and jamming on their brakes? There are other liquids you can haul in a tanker truck like milk I suppose but they are still just as dangerous if you have to take any evasive action while driving like stopping. I personally would never drive a tanker but for some people the money and the hours of some of these CDL jobs are appealing.

Get out the CDL manual and read through the tank vehicles ndorsement section a few times. It is one of the easier sections to understand and learn. When your done take are free Tanker Test and see if you retained any of the information. When you can pass our tank vehicles test you should be ready to go over to the DMV and take the real one for your tanker endorsement.

If you are a new driver it may be a good idea to drive a regular van for a while before you go and get your this endorsement. Driving these vehicles safely requires skill and driving experience and there is no room for error. Making a mistake in a tanker truck as well as most rigs can end up costing hundreds of thousands of dollars and possibly your life or the life of someone else. You should only get one of these endorsements if you are a mature individual with all of your parting days years behind you.
