This is really a no brainer. If you were going to go to school to be a mechanic you would not limit yourself to just learning how to work on Mustangs. If you did you would certainly be limiting the amount of job opportunities available to you after school and in the future. The same is true for truck drivers. Most break-in companies will require that you get your Hazardous Materials Endorsement on your commercial drivers license. If for some reason you go to CDL training school that tells you not to worry about getting it get it anyway.

With the Hazmat endorsement you will not be limiting yourself to only working for companies that do not haul Hazardous Materials. Not only will you have less job opportunities you will not be able to make as much money either. Most of the highest paying trucking companies haul Hazmat and if you are going to be a career truck driver your goal should be to move up the ladder as quickly as possible.

Getting this endorsement is as simple as passing a short CDL test and getting a Federal Background Check. Study the Hazmat section of the CDL manual and come back and take our free Hazardous Materials Test to gage your progress with retaining the information before you go test for this endorsement.
